March Mental Health Check-In

Before March ends, let’s take some time to check-in on our mental health and reflect on how we’re feeling at this moment in time. Since we’re already three months into this year, this is a great opportunity to reflect on where we started on January 1st to this current point. No matter where your head is at right now, reflection is an essential part of growth and helps guide you through your next chapter. Today, let’s discuss the importance of a mental health check-in and the steps we can take to ensure personal growth through the rest of the year: 

Reflect & Recognize 

After reflecting with yourself, you’ll realize and recognize the areas in your life that you are struggling with. Instead of pushing away any negative emotions and leaving them on the backburner, identify solutions that you can take to improve your well-being and quality of life. Ignoring those thoughts only leaves us to feel like we’re drowning, and that’s no way to go through life. Once you have acknowledged how you’re feeling and how you can lift yourself off the ground, you’re one step closer to finding happiness within yourself. 

Assess Your Stress

Stress comes in waves for some men while others feel a heavy weight of stress on their shoulders throughout everyday life. Stress can stem from anything – work, family, or personal obligations – which can lead us to have something lingering in the back of our minds at all times. Acknowledge the pressure you feel and assess the ways you have been managing your stress. If you haven’t been effectively coping with your stress for the first quarter of the year, now is the time to switch gears and implement coping strategies into your life before burn-out hits hard. 

Lean on Your Support System

Your loved ones – significant other, friends, and family – create a strong support system within your life to help you deal with challenges and difficult situations. Take a moment to look at how you’ve been connecting with the important people in your life. Are you spending quality time with them or are you pushing them away to avoid talking about what’s really on your mind? Cultivate deeper and more meaningful relationships by sharing your inner thoughts – you may just end up hearing some words of wisdom. Even if you don’t have anything pressing going on in your life, a casual check-in can truly boost your mental health. 

It’s Okay to Seek Help 

There is only so much work we can do on our own; sometimes we need the helping hand from an external source – whether it’s therapy or a support group. Just because your struggles are a part of your own personal journey, doesn’t mean you have to walk the path alone. It takes great strength to acknowledge when you need help and to reach out for extra support during a time of need. 

Whether you’ve had a strong first quarter of 2025 and want to keep that momentum going or you want to turn your life around during the second quarter, checking-in on your mental health is a crucial step to take in order to get to the next level. Your struggles will not be fixed with a band-aid, however, reflection will help heal you and get you back on the right track. Let’s start our next chapter off strong, kings.
