Master Your Mornings: Morning Routine for Men
Happy December, kings! As we’re in the midst of the holiday season, our days may look crazy and feel overwhelming. To avoid the holiday stress, a positive and productive morning routine is essential. Your mornings set the tone for the rest of your day. Don’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed and throw in the towel before you’ve even given yourself a fair chance. Here’s how to start your day off right and set yourself up for success:
Don’t Hit Snooze
Many of us fall victim to the snooze button in the morning and promise ourselves just five more minutes of rest (which inevitably turns into us oversleeping and rushing around to get ready.) Instead of hitting the very tempting snooze button, get out of bed as soon as you hear your alarm go off and make your bed right away to avoid crawling back into it. Tip: set your alarm across the room so you actually have to get up to turn it off.
Hydrate
It’s important to hydrate first thing in the morning – we’ve been asleep for (hopefully) eight hours, which means our body is dehydrated from the lack of water. Starting your day with a glass of water ensures that we’re on our way to meeting our daily water intake and prevents the side effects that come along with dehydration. For an extra boost of hydration, add electrolytes to your water.
Meditation
Meditation helps to start your day with a calm, clear, and focused mind. This time of year is jam-packed and may bring you extra anxiety that meditation can help combat. Your meditation doesn’t have to be an hour long – a quick five minutes makes all the difference in your mental state. If you’re unsure where to start with your meditation, there are plenty of guided practices to help you on your journey.
Movement
After laying in bed for hours, it’s important to move your body and get your blood flowing. Movement helps set the tone for a productive day ahead. Choose the type of movement that works for you and makes you feel good. You don’t have to hit the gym at 5am if that’s not your thing – a simple at-home stretching routine or a short walk will get the job done..
Hygiene Routine
Your hygiene routine plays an important role in how you feel for the day. When you lay around in sweats all day and don’t even bother to brush your teeth, it reflects in your productivity levels and how you feel. Carve out a few minutes to give yourself a confidence and energy boost.
Your morning routine doesn’t have to be time-consuming to be effective. Even with a busy schedule, it’s important to take the time for yourself to create a positive tone for the rest of your day. This quick morning routine will help you stay sane during the holiday craze. Happy holidays, kings!
